z/OS Systems Engineer with AF/Operator to SA/NetView Migration Assessment & Implementation experience

Our client is seeking an experienced z/OS Systems Engineer with AF/Operartor to SA/NetView Migration Assessmentand Implementation Experience to perform and enable technical support for a migration from IBM AF/Operator to SA/NetView on z/OS for controlling and monitoring z/OS systems.
Phase 1: Discovery & migration plan creation (2-4 weeks).
Phase 2: Implementation of migration to SA/NetView (6 months)

Job Key Responsibilities

  • Define NetView Operators and interfaces.
  • System start-up, configuration, tuning, testing, troubleshooting and establish steady state for SA and NetView products.
  • Provide training on SA and NetView operations and best practices.
  • Decommission AF/Operator system.
  • Assess outcome.
  • Provide Incident Management using root cause analysis.
  • Provide Change Management with guidance on prerequisite technical requirement and impact analysis.
  • Employ specific processes and tools to plan, track, monitor and report resolution activities and progress.
  • Use technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution.
  • Communicate action plans to the client.
  • Recommend and implement new or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes. May provide training for and mentor others on the team.
  • Must be the customer's advocate and utilize the customer's business perspective when looking at the systems/solution/enterprise view of any situation.

Job Must Haves

  • Performing AF/Operator (to SA/NetView) migration assessment.
  • Creating a migration plan.
  • Migrating AF/Operator to SA/NetView:
  • Set SA Automation Policy (define APL, APG) and flags.
  • Establishing start up and shut down procedures in SA/NetView for WSSI, JES, SDFS, RRS, VTAM TCPIP, TSO
  • System monitoring with NetView console – set up, tune and troubleshooting.
  • Training and KT
  • Decommissioning AF/Operator
  • z/OS v2.4 and 2.5 support.
  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • BS degree in Computer Information Systems, or relevant experience
