The Client

A major global investment bank operating in the United States and more than 25 other countries with assets of over $75 Billion and a staff of 25,000. They are involved in all levels of capital markets and financial investments, providing services to government, commercial, and individual clients.

The Engagement

Encode was asked to develop a proof-of-concept to demonstrate a viable messaging hub replacement strategy. The existing hub, was built internally over a period of many years, was not scalable and was difficult to maintain.

Encode found and remedied multiple problems with recoverability of transactions as well as proactively identified and solved many issues prior to implementation. Several of these were traced to client or third party software add-ons.

Critical Services Delivered

Encode analyzed the client's existing infrastructure architecture and completed a business needs analysis.

Encode then installed WebSphere Business Integrator for Financial Network and conducted numerous bench mark performance testing scenarios to help the client better plan for a migration effort.

Technology Used

The client and Encode Architect selected both IBM WebSphere Business Integration for Financial Networks (WBIFN) and WebSphere MQ for this project: "MQSeries based messaging is the recommended approach for data integration, ensuring a high level of flexibility, transactional security, and the broadest platform coverage.
